PEOPLE WITH RESTRICTED MOBILITY

ARRIVING ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT

From the Messe Freiburg stop, there is barrier-free access to the Messe. The stop is located close to the Messe Freiburg site and is linked to it via a tactile signage system.

ARRIVING BY CAR, CAR PARKS

In the Messe Freiburg car park, there are reserved spaces available for people with restricted mobility (authorised parking permit required):

  • Lengthways spaces: at least 7.5 m x 2.5 m
  • Other spaces: 3.5 m x 5 m
  • Kerb: 3 cm high across the full width

Most of the parking spaces are located right in front of hall 1. From here, there is level, barrier-free access to the halls. More parking spaces are available by hall 4. From here, there is barrier-free access to the halls via a ramp next to hall 4.

ACCESSIBLE VISITS TO MESSE FREIBURG

It goes without saying that a barrier-free visit to Messe Freiburg is possible. Level access to the halls on the hall 4 side is via a wheelchair-friendly ramp with a maximum incline of 6%. On the hall 1 side, access is entirely level. None of the entrance doors have thresholds, and they are a minimum of 90 cm wide to accommodate wheelchairs. Wheelchair-friendly lifts in all conference areas allow you to move easily between all conference rooms.

There is of course also barrier-free access to all of the halls and foyers. It is hugely important to us that any visit to Messe Freiburg, for both guests and event organisers, is nothing but a pleasure. All service areas are also accessible for people with limited mobility. There are wheelchair-accessible toilets in all event spaces.

WHEELCHAIR SPACES AT CONCERTS AND SHOWS

There are designated spaces provided in the SICK-ARENA for people in wheelchairs. The exact positioning may vary depending on the seating option. We ask that you specify your need for a wheelchair space directly with the relevant event organiser in advance when booking your ticket.
Feel free to also speak to our staff at any time while on site if you require assistance.

PEOPLE WHO ARE HARD OF HEARING

Conference rooms 6 to 11 are fitted with an induction loop. This allows people wearing hearing aids to receive the audio wirelessly if the device has the correct receiver. Do let us know if sign language interpreters are required.

PEOPLE WHO ARE VISUALLY IMPAIRED

The buttons for each floor in the lift are marked using braille. Tactile floor markings guide people who are visually impaired from the Messe Freiburg public transport stop to the Messe site.

If you have any questions, requests or comments about accessibility at Messe Freiburg, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
